It is with sadness that we learned of the passing of Louis Schweitzer, who served as Chairman and CEO of the Renault Group from 1992 to 2005. During his tenure at the helm of Renault, Louis Schweitzer led major transformations, including the privatization of the group and the acceleration of its international expansion. We also take this opportunity to pay tribute to the initiator of the first employee share ownership plans, which today allow us to strive for 10% employee ownership. The AASR extends its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
Association of Employee Shareholders at Renault Group
The Association of Employee Shareholders at Renault Group (AASR) aims to bring together, inform, and represent employee shareholders and former employees of the group.
The association is independent, affiliated with the "Fédération Française des Associations d’Actionnaires Salariés (FAS)", and has no connection to the group or any labor organization. It operates solely through the contributions of its members and does not receive any subsidies.
“I want to congratulate Renault's management, which has committed to having 10% employee shareholding within a few years in all of Renault's industrial sites. I believe in profit-sharing, I believe in participation, I believe in fair remuneration for your work and your commitment and I believe that nothing is better for the French economy than having employees who participate in the capital of their Company, who are shareholders of their Company, who own a part of their Company, because they feel depositary and responsible for their work tool. We no longer oppose, we bring together; we no longer fight, we work together in the same direction." Bruno Lemaire (French Minister of the Economy and Finance), during his official visit to the Sandouville plant on March 29, 2024
"Promoting employee share ownership is an integral part of Renault Group's transformation into a next-generation automotive company. Our goal is to reach 10% employee share ownership by 2030. This is one of the most ambitious employee shareholding plans in any industry. With Renaulution Shareplan #2, we are taking another decisive step towards this goal.”, said Luca de Meo, CEO Renault Group.
Coming together to better exercise, together, our rights and in particular that of participating in the governance of our company... this is the reason for existence of the AASR.
